Happy Fall! It’s October! We’ve been busy, but not so busy we can’t enjoy some colorful leaves, Halloween decorations and pumpkin spice everything. - AXIOM’s own Peter Ward and Jason Ruff headed down to Washington DC for the ATD Chapter Leader Conference and came home with some great information. A few highlights from Peter:
- Preconference Workshop: Maximize Your Chapter’s Marketing and Communication Strategy – great ideas to get the word out and introduce the benefits of ATD and how to attract new members
- Sunrise Session: ALC First Time Attendee Orientation – met a bunch of other Membership Directors and shared ideas and created a support network
- Concurrent Session: Automate Your Chapter’s Social Media – Wow ! Learned a lot about strategy, how to do it effectively and realized it’s not as scary as my kids tell me it is. (they’re trying to keep me away!)
- General Session: ATD President and CEO, Tony Bingham, and Recognition Presentation – learned what’s new for ATD in the years to come!
- General Session Keynote: Michael Bungay Stanier – Engaging and fun presentation on human interaction and how to ask the right questions to engage people in conversation. Very inspiring!
- Hands-On Workshop: Align Your Chapter and Board Using a Strategic Compass – how to use a model similar to Pros/Cons but on steroids. Useful for boards AND everyday decisions.

- MS Office classes are always available for you to take on your own time, in your own space. We have calendars updated through December. These virtual classes are 90 minutes, offer several topic choices and are geared toward all levels. Sign up anytime!
