For those of you in the greater Boston area, on October 10, from 6 to 8:30 pm, the ATD Greater Boston chapter is sponsoring a great event with speaker Lauren Wall Klieves called “VisualStory Mini Workshop” at the Courtyard Marriott in Norwood.
The event (which includes dinner!) will “provide techniques and tools to shift your mindset and strengthen communication and visual design across your organization. Based on Nancy Duarte’s award-winning books Resonate and Slide:ology, Laura will take us through a mini version of Duarte’s 8-hour workshop, VisualStory®, sharing insights around building the audience journey, refining the big idea, best practices for content creation, and techniques to apply design principles to slides.”

Later in the month, the ATD Central Mass chapter has an event on October 29 from 7:30 to 10 am at Northwoods in Johnston, RI called “Design Thinking: Innovation and Design Workshop”.
In this session, “participants will be provided an overview of the design thinking process, and will be actively engaged in a sampling of experiential exercises that will mirror the five stages of the design thinking process. This session is highly interactive and completely hands-on, to ensure participants a solid understanding of the ways in which design thinking can generate innovative approaches to problem solving in organizations.” The facilitator will be Lori Coakley.
