Summer is in full swing and while we’ve had some vacation time, we’re still busy as ever. We hope you’ve had time to recharge and some warm beach days to refresh you and your family. Here’s some news and notes for July from us and our friends and partners.good job

  • Congratulations!!! Peter Ward, your dedication to Learning & Development never stops! Peter has been appointed the VP of Membership for the ATD Bay Colony Chapter. We wish you the best and know you’ll do great things!
  • Looking for a job? Know someone who is? This could be full time or contract. We’re always looking for great talent to work with or help find the right job home. Right now some hot openings on our plate our Project Managers, Instructional Designers and L&D Managers (specifically with a technical background!). Visit our Jobs page to learn more.
  • Our friend and instructor Ken Kousen has a few events coming up that might interest you:GR8 Conference
    • July 27-29:  He’ll be presenting at the US version of Gr8conf in Minneapolis, MN (he just returned from this same conference in Copenhagen where he spoke on Gradle Recipes for Android and Groovy Tips & Tricks and was the keynote speaker)
    • Summer dates: Ken is a regular speaker on the NFJS (No Fluff Just Stuff) tour where he’ll speak on many topics in Des Moines, IA on August 5-6, Raleigh, NC on August 19-20
  • And don’t forget, Ken’s book is out now. If you are a Gradle fan, this one is for you. Gradle Recipes.
  • Another interesting event from friend Eric Bloom is the IT LAMP Series. It’s a rolling, monthly set of events surrounding IT management that you can jump in on anytime. Check out our latest blog post about what’s coming.IT LAMP
  • Training is coming down to the wire for some of AXIOM’s own…and not classroom training this time. Bruce and Peter are on those bikes as much as possible for the Pan Mass Challenge in August! Consider a donation, or a trip down to the race to cheer them on! And a big thanks to PanMass4Jason who will volunteer for the event, too.
  • Last but not least, consider an online class this summer while your office is slow. We offer a variety of MS Office classes that are only 90 minutes and you can take them wherever you are comfortable. Yes, that even means by the pool if you have wi-fi! Check out our page, the calendars are updated through September.
