Recently we introduced you to partner and AXIOM friend Lauren Supraner of CAL Learning (Cultural and Language Training) and talked about her 7-part series on accent reduction and pronunciation for non-native speakers in the business world. These half day workshops cover a variety of topics that can improve speaking confidence for the learner and allow companies to develop employees for more and greater communication and leadership roles.
First up, Grammar and Fluency.
This workshop will improve fluency and grammatical accuracy when speaking. Participants will learn the correct phrasing and stress patterns for common grammar structure, to sound fluent and not choppy. Throughout the session, participants will practice changes in word form and grammar that also change stress (photograph, photography, photographic).
- Attain a higher level of accuracy in grammar and usage in spoken English.
- Apply correct phrasing for grammar structures
- Apply correct stress patterns for commonly used grammar structures
- Clearly pronounce final consonants with grammatical functions: –‘ve, -‘d, -n’t, –s ,-ed
- Use grammar to predict stress in words and phrases
Lauren will come to you, with all necessary materials, and teach to up to 15 participants in your location.
What makes these classes unique is they are short (only half days!), very focused and Lauren will come to you with all necessary materials. Each workshop is one topic that Lauren can really dive into. These classes for up to 15 participants are more intensive that a longer session that might include several accent reduction techniques.
They also function singularly, so you can chose to attend one, a few, or all sessions. You don’t need to take them in order and you will not miss anything if you choose to take only a small subset of workshops.
Please contact us if you have any interest in these workshops. We’re happy to set up a schedule that works for your group.
