Mixed Reality: After the Magic is Gone

Looking for something to do on February 27? You can count on AXIOM to keep up with the latest Learning & Development events…especially when a good friend and partner is presenting! Next week Brian Boyle of Crosstrainer Mixed Reality will be presenting at the ATD Bay Colony Event, “Mixed Reality: After the Magic is Gone”.

On February 27 from 5:30 to 7:30 at Northwoods in Johnston, Rhode Island, ATD Bay Colony will host this event about immersive learning technology with VR/AR (Virtual Reality/Augmented Reality). We’re thrilled to be able to hear our friend and partner Brian Boyle speak about the difference between virtual reality and augmented reality, while hosting interactive experiences, and showing why the Learning industry should jump on this new trend!

From ATD Bay Colony:

“Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic.”
– Arthur C. Clarke

By this point you’ve probably experienced some form of augmented reality, virtual reality, or mixed reality, and chances are you were wowed. The initial experience may have seemed like magic. For many we’re still in that honeymoon phase, we’re head-over-heels in love with this technology. But what happens after the magic is gone? The next phase is critical. How do we apply these technologies in a way that makes sense for our business? How do we add real value to justify the investment?

In this presentation you will:

  • Learn the key differences between virtual and augmented reality
  • Get hands on experience with each
  • Discuss value-adding applications for the training industry
