For the second year in a row AXIOM is committed to supporting our friends and employees as they tackle the PanMass Challenge this summer. Last year Peter Ward had a fantastic ride and couldn’t stop talking about how rewarding the experience was. This year, Bruce Berfield has decided to join him, and Jason Ruff has signed up to volunteer along the course!
“Each year the Pan-Mass Challenge brings together thousands of impassioned cyclists, committed volunteers, generous donors and dedicated corporate sponsors. Together, we strive to provide Dana-Farber’s doctors and researchers the necessary resources to discover cures for all types of cancer.”
You can find out more about this amazing bike ride at the PanMass Challenge website. PMC has raised over $500 Million dollars since its inception in 1985 and has a goal of $46 Million this year.
Take a moment to read Bruce and Peter’s stories and please donate if you can. This is a great cause that touches many people personally and is a fulfilling way to give back.
From Bruce:
Riding in the Pan Mass Challenge has been on my bucket list for years, but until now I have not been in a position to do so. The training and hard work over the few years has made me stronger and has healed my back pain. I am now ready to tackle this event. This ride from Sturbridge to Provincetown, pales in comparison to the challenge that my father-in-law, Bob Milewski and other friends and family members I know are trying to overcome. With that in mind, I am riding in honor of Bob Milewski and in memory of Brian Davis.

From Peter:
I ride in memory of my Mother who passed away in July 2012 after a long battle with Ovarian cancer and for countless friends and family.
Our family gathered in New York City this past January 1st and went to the opera to celebrate my father’s birthday. (Yes I went to the Opera ! It was awesome too!) As we surprised him with a cake and champagne toast during one of the intermissions my Mom’s presence was apparent and the love she has for us and the world urges me to continue….

AXIOM will be cheering our riders on and Jason will be there manning a water station along the course. We know Peter and Bruce are training hard and will have a huge cheering section to push them through this long ride.
Good luck Peter and Bruce!
